Akura is a second generation, family owned, engineering company. Established in 1970 by André Du Toit and now run by his sons, Lance and Anton Du Toit, Akura has played an integral role in the development of the waste and recycling industry in Southern Africa.

We have become one of Africa’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of solid waste management and beneficiation equipment and have successfully implemented many projects, from small to large.
Although we primarily focus on projects to extract recyclates and reduce the volume of solid waste materials, we believe our company is only as good as the solutions and services we provide to our customers. Over time we have amassed considerable experience leveraging both in-house and imported technologies to meet the individual needs of our customers, while having our own in-house design team enables us to offer bespoke solutions across many disciplines.

Akura operates from four bases across Southern Africa enabling us to provide quick and efficient assistance to our customers. Our Head Office, main Manufacturing Works and Western Cape Service Centre are located in Paarl. From here our Customer Care Centre, Projects Office and main Electrical Service Centre provide additional support to our Service Centres located in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape.
